
DAYS 1 & 2 | Oct. 10 & 11. Depart U.S. / Arrive Arusha
After an evening arrival to the Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by an Orbridge representative who will assist with the transfer to your hotel.

DAYS 3 & 4 | Oct. 12 & 13. Tarangire National Park
Breakfast begins at 7:00am, followed by a welcome briefing by your guide in the hotel lobby at 8:00am. Depart Arusha to enjoy two days exploring Tarangire National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Tarangire is known for a wonderful diversity of wildlife amidst its famous baobab trees, more than 260 bird species, and large elephant herds.

DAY 5 | Oct. 14. Tarangire / Lake Manyara National Park / Mto Wa Mbu Cultural Village / Ngorongoro Highlands
Today we drive to Lake Manyara National Park. After a game drive we drive to Karatu and enjoy a traditional lunch in Mto Wa Mbu Village, where you will also have an opportunity to explore and socialize. We continue to the Ngorongoro Highlands, one of the most beautiful safari areas in East Africa.

DAY 6 | Oct. 15. Ngorongoro Center
After breakfast, travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, Earth’s largest unbroken caldera. A veritable “Garden of Eden,” the crater is reputed to contain the highest density of carnivores, which includes cheetah, leopard, and lion. This is the only place in East Africa where one can easily observe a natural population of black rhino. Full day spent in the crater with picnic lunch.

DAYS 7 & 8 | Oct. 16 & 17. Olduvai Gorge & Maasai Village / Serengeti National Park (Seronera Valley)
Today, navigate around the crater’s rim descending to Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important prehistoric archaeological sites on Earth. It was here in the 1950’s that Louis and Mary Leakey first unconvered the fossilized teeth and skull of one of our earliest ancestors. After an interpretive presentations, we continue to Tanzania’s most renowned national park, the Serengeti. Home to the greatest concentration of large mammals on Earth, the migratory herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle roam widely in search of green grass and water. Morning and afternoon drives each day.
Overnight: Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge (B, L, D)
While in Serengeti National Park, an optional hot air ballon safari is available: View wildlife as you float over the Serengeti, then enjoy a champagne breakfast and a game drive before rejoining the group. The excursion must be purchased in advance to guarantee availability and is non-refundable.
DAYS 9 & 10 | Oct. 18 & 19. Serengeti National Park (Western Corridor – Grumeti) / Lake Victoria Fishing Village
Traveling west beyond the Seronera Vallet, enter the Western Corridor and Grumeti Rover region of the park. Famous for a population of Nile crocodiles, the Grumeti is located in a lovely rolling hill and cacia woodland habitat. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives each day to explore this year round-habitat for many of the Serengeti’s bird and mammal species. Visit and explore a fishing village located on the shore of Lake Victoria. Share photos and stories with your travel partners during a farewell bush dinner on our last night.

DAY 11 | Oct. 20. Serengeti / Arusha – Cuntural Heritage / Depart
Take an internal flight back to Arusha this morning. On arrival enjoy lunch and finish your shopping for woodcarvings, art or Tanzanite at the Cultural Heritage Center. Day rooms at a nearby hotel provide downtime until our transfer to the airport this evening.
