Recapture the magic of the Advent season as you step into scenes that glitter with fairy-tale charm. Begin your adventure in Paris, the City of Light, and see the Grand Palais, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower and other important landmarks during a cruise on the Seine River. Journey to Luxembourg, whose Place d’Armes transforms into a traditional Christmas market. Visit Trier, the oldest city in Germany, and see the House of the Three Magi. Cruise aboard the MS Amadeus Silver for the town of Cochem, long celebrated for its legacy of folk tales, delicious wines and vast history, and go inside Reichsburg Castle. Continue to Cologne to tour Kölner Dom. Stop in Koblenz and Rüdesheim before returning to France to experience the historic center of Strasbourg.

DAY 1 | Dec. 1.
Depart for Paris, France.

DAY 2 | Dec. 2. Paris
Upon arrival, transfer to the Paris-Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, gather for a welcome reception at the hotel.

DAY 3 | Dec. 3. Paris
Independent Exploration: Spend the morning at leisure.
Excursion: Seine River Cruise. Enjoy some of Paris’ most iconic sights, including the Grand Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral, from the Seine.

DAY 4 | Dec. 4. Paris
Independent Exploration: Explore the city on your own or join the optional excursion to Versailles.

DAY 5 | Dec. 5. Paris / Luxembourg / Bernkastel
Transfer to Luxembourg via TGV train in the morning.
Excursion: Luxembourg Holiday Markets. Luxembourg’s Place d’Armes transforms into a traditional Christmas market. Stroll through the square and admire goods for sale. Continue to Bernkastel and board the MS Amadeus Silver. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a Welcome Reception and Dinner.

DAY 6 | Dec. 6. Trier / Bernkastel
Excursion: Trier. See the Porta Nigra, a Roman city gate built in the late second century A.D. Discover the 13thcentury House of the Three Magi and the Hauptmarkt, the market square.
Excursion: Bernkastel. Enjoy a walking tour of the 700-year-old town. See St. Michael’s Church, the late Renaissance town hall and more. Later, set sail on the Mosel River.
Educational Focus: The Wines of the Mosel. Hear about the centuries-old tradition of wine making and the combination of soil, sun, craft and art that goes into producing a Mosel Valley wine. Follow with a wine tasting.

DAY 7 | Dec. 7. Cochem / Koblenz
Excursion: Cochem City Tour. Experience the town of Cochem, known for its legacy of folk tales, wine traditions and vast history. On a guided tour, walk through the town and visit the baroque Town Hall and the remains of the old town walls as your guide regales you with legends and stories.
Educational Focus: The Tradition of the Holiday Markets. From Christmas trees to the festive booths selling holiday decorations and gifts, learn about Germany’s many traditions during Advent.
Independent Exploration: This evening, the ship overnights in Koblenz, where you will have time at leisure.

DAY 8 | Dec. 8. Koblenz / Rüdesheim
Excursion: Koblenz. Explore the historic town center, with its winding lanes and picturesque squares. Later, sail through the gorgeous Rhine Gorge and pass Loreley Rock.
Educational Focus: Castles and Legends of the Rhine. The Rhine boasts more castles than any other river in the world. Learn about Loreley, the siren whose song bewitched many sailors, and many other tales.
Independent Exploration: Spend the evening at leisure in Rüdesheim.

DAY 9 | Dec. 9. Mainz / Worms
Excursion: Romantic Heidelberg. The university in Heidelberg is Germany’s oldest institution of higher learning. Explore the town with a stroll along the Hauptstrasse. Rejoin the ship later in Worms.

DAY 10 | Dec. 10. Worms
Excursion: Walking Tour of Worms. This ancient city has played a significant role in many historic events, including the advent of Martin Luther and the Reformation. Its synagogue is Germany’s oldest.

DAY 11 | Dec. 11. Kehl / Strasbourg
Excursion: Strasbourg. Enjoy a tour or the historic center of Strasbourg. In the evening, enjoy a farewell reception and dinner.

DAY 12 | Dec. 12.
Transfer to the Frankfurt airport for the
return to your gateway city.
