Fred Burwick
Department of English
Fred Burwick, professor emeritus in the UCLA Department of English, has accompanied UCLA alumni tours through Central Europe on several occasions and has received high praise from his many travelers. During his career, Burwick served as visiting professor at several German universities including Würzburg, Siegen, Bamberg and Göttingen, and spent two years as the director of the UC Education Abroad Program. He also has lectured at the universities of Cologne, Heidelberg, Leipzig, and Munich as well as at Oxford and Cambridge in England. He has published extensively on British and German Romanticism and was named distinguished scholar by both the British Academy and the Keats-Shelley Association.
