Ann Mellor / Ron Mellor
Department of English / Department of History
Ron Mellor, who has taught Greek and Roman history, western civilization and world history at UCLA since 1976, is Distinguished Research Professor in History. Ron has already, together with his wife Anne, led ten UCLA Alumni Travel tours in more than eight countries, and also taught ten month-long Summer Travel Study courses in Rome. He has been a fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Council of Learned Societies, and has been a Visiting Scholar at University College London, the Australian National University (ANU) and the American Academy in Rome. Anne Mellor is Distinguished Research Professor of English and Women's Studies at UCLA. Her scholarly interests focus on eighteenth and nineteenth century British literature, women's writing, feminist theory, and the visual arts. She has been the recipient of two Guggenheim Fellowships, and ACLS, NEH, Rockefeller and Australian National University Fellowships. Anne has also lectured in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany. Anne received the UCLA Distinguished Teaching Award in 2002 and has recently been teaching an on-line course on Jane Austen.
