The American West

JUN. 2-11, 2021
Rapid City, Badlands National Park, Sheridan, Cody, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole

The diverse heritage and natural splendor of the American West spring to life on this inspiring 10-day small group tour, limited to 24 travelers. From the monumental – Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse – to the majestic – Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, Bighorn Forest and the Great Plains – see America at her most beautiful. Arriving in Rapid City for a two-night stay, explore South Dakota’s famed Badlands National Park with its stunning array of rock formations. In the Black Hills, see the world-famous Mt. Rushmore National Memorial and the massive Crazy Horse Memorial. Continuing on to Wyoming for a two-night stay in the classic Western town of Sheridan, visit a local ranch for an authentic taste of the Old West and a barbecue lunch, and tour the Kendrick Mansion, once a cattle baron’s home. Travel on through the Bighorn National Forest and across the Great Plains to Cody, the “Rodeo Capital of the World,” named for its famous founder, Buffalo Bill Cody. Here, tour the central attraction: the five-museum Buffalo Bill Center of the West and the Cody Nite Rodeo. Natural grandeur lies in store next with two days of exploring legendary Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park and home to spectacular Yellowstone Grand Canyon, Yellowstone Lake, and storied Old Faithful. A vastly different yet equally awe-inspiring landscape awaits at Grand Teton National Park, along with a three-night stay in beautiful Jackson Hole. Enjoy a small group highlight – a leisurely rafting trip down the Snake River – before toasting the Western adventure at a farewell dinner.
